San Francisco Giants ace Tim Lincecum has been sued for allegedly trashing his rented Bay-area apartment, the San Jose Mercury News reported Thursday.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, claims the hard-throwing righty stole or destroyed $200,000 worth of household items in the furnished San Francisco apartment.
Lincecum, 27, is accused of illegally returning to the apartment after his lease expired and stealing or destroying multiple items during what the landlord's attorney speculated was a wild party.
"My belief is there was some kind of party that left it in really bad condition," attorney Jonathan Bonstein said. "Maybe there's a perfectly good explanation on his side, but we haven't heard it yet."
The two-time Cy Young winner's agent, Rick Thurman, told the Mercury News it was an "unwarranted lawsuit," adding "I'm not going to dignify it with a response."
The lawsuit seeks $350,000, according to the report. Lincecum also was accused of making late rent payments and stealing the landlord's personal property.
According to Bonstein, Lincecum remained in the apartment through May without his landlord's permission, despite his rental agreement expiring in February.
The Giants declined to comment on the lawsuit, according to the Mercury News.
