Mother of Bears MLB Brian Urlacher dies

Brian Urlacher has rushed to Arizona to take care of a family emergency involving his mother and his status for Sunday's game is unclear, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Tribune says the Bears linebacker is expected to be away from the Bears for several days. Chicago plays New Orleans on Sunday, and Urlacher is coming off a 10-tackle performance against Atlanta in which he scored on a fumble return and also had an interception.

The Tribune says Urlacher's mom, Lavoyda, has been living in Mount Pleasant, Texas, near the Louisiana border.
